Assignment
1) Decide on two (can be a combination of options) significant events leading up to the war, famous people, or major events that are significant to the war. You may use your social studies book to get started.

Create a Magazine Cover Go to bighugelabs.com Login: [email protected] Password: wildcats This site offers a wide variety of tools; we will be using the magazine cover generator. This tool will let you put in headlines, by-lines, background images and other ways to display information. Use this tool to summarize/provide a conclusion for your topic selection. Once you done, you must take a screen shot of the page, then upload it to a separate page on your wiki. Use these step by step instructions: Names [both partners] 1) ______________________________ ; 2) ______________________________ Directions for Creating your Magazine Cover: a) Complete the template below with your own content. b) Go to: http://bighugelabs.com and login as follows: i. Email (username): [email protected] ii. Password: Wildcats c) Click on “Magazine Cover” tool to create your own. d) Upload your background image—click the “Browse” button to find your already saved image and double click it. e) (Magazine Title—same for everyone) The Revolutionary Times Choose your layout—click the arrow to scroll down to “black tagline” layout and select it. f) Type the Magazine title in the box provided. a. Then click the box for “bold.” g) Next, in the box labeled “Publication Date”, type the Month and Year that would go along with your content. (Must be during the American Revolutionary time period!) h) Next, add your publication price in the box provided. Go to the Resources Page on the library website to see authentic prices for this time period in history. i) Lines 2 & 3: Type your issue title in the boxes for Lines 2 & 3. You only get about 6 words per line, so split your issue title in an appropriate place to fit on both lines. See teacher example. j) Lines 5 & 6: Type your slogan or famous quote on these lines. Your get about 8 words per line, so you may need to shorten your slogan or quote or just use the most important part of it. Note: For a quote, you can use Line 6 for the author’s name. If you use a slogan that you create—you may use one or both lines. k) Line 11: Type the words--your choice: ● “Featured Articles” ● “Read All About It…” ● “Hot Off the Presses…” ● “News from the Front Lines” l) Line 12: First student’s main feature article subject/title goes here. m) Line 13: Second student’s main feature article subject/title goes here. n) Line 14: Third student’s main feature article subject/title goes here. o) Line 15: Fourth student’s main feature article subject/title goes here. p) Click “CREATE” to create your magazine cover. Then save your cover to your folder under your teacher’s name in the bobcat5 account login. Make sure to rename your cover picture as “Your Issue Name-student1-student2” Step 4:
