Blogging
During the 3rd Quarter we will begin blogging about our books. Students will share ideas within their groups to communicate their thoughts and feelings about the characters, the plot, etc. This will allow students to respond to each other's writing. Check out the video below to learn more about blogging in the classroom!
Blogging Expectations
1. Positive, Specific, Helpful
All comments on the blog should be positive, specific, and helpful. I will have to approve all comments before they are posted. If you don't see your comments posted, you will need to redo your comments in order to reach the requirement of 2 per week.
2. Brainstorm with a partner
You can brainstorm aloud with a partner to help get the juices in your mind flowing. You may even want to jot a few ideas down, so you know what to write about. Your partner's post and your post should not be the same. Use your own words and creativity.
3. Punctuation, Capitalization, Spelling, Complete Sentences
Use your best writing skills! This will help your fellow classmates to enjoy reading your posts so much more. I don't expect you to use these perfectly, but to your best ability. You know what a complete sentence is and that each sentence should be more than five words. Lets focus on writing in depth and on topic!

I found this blogging cycle on hello.literacy.blogspot.com. This is a great visual for students and teachers to use while blogging!
